Matt Williams
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Matt is a Managing Director and Founding Partner of EQA. Over his 20-year career in M&A representation, he has worked on more than 75 transactions across a broad range of industries, deal structures, stakeholders, and challenges. He is a trusted advisor to founders, executives, and boards supporting strategic decision making and transaction execution. Matt prefers complex deals—the ones without a playbook—where creativity, strategy, and resolve matter.
While his experience spans a wide spectrum of industries, Matt dedicates significant focus to the engineering, infrastructure and industrial sectors, where he has developed unique domain expertise and impactful relationships. Matt currently serves on the board of directors of Loureiro Engineering, a 250-person, 100% employee-owned (ESOP) firm focused on integrated engineering, environmental consulting and civil infrastructure.
Prior to founding EQA, Matt worked at Forbes Partners, a leading middle-market investment bank. He studied finance and accounting at the University of Colorado.
Outside the office, Matt is a father of two young boys, enjoys golfing and is a passionate woodworker.
